Hi lovelies! As you well know, I was at the Kiehl’s opening event back in June, and that was the first time I had the chance to try some of their products, including a sample for the Daily Reviving Concentrate serum.
Well, not long after that, I also received the full sized product, so I had enough time to test it and see how it works for my skin.
Kiehl’s is a high-end skincare brand, so this serum is pretty expensive. I wanted to share my experience on the blog, to help you see whether it’s worth the money or not.
The first thing I must mention is that this facial oil is ah-mazing for hydrating and nourishing the skin. Even though it’s an oil, it doesn’t feel greasy or sticky at all, and it absorbs quickly. The smell and the texture are addicting, it makes you want to rub your face with serum all day long 😂
And I noticed how well it works after using an exfoliating cleanser or a face mask, that tend to dry out the skin. This serum helps a lot with dry areas, so I imagine it’s a life saviour for every girl out there with a dry skin.
I have a combination skin, I tend to get oily on my T-zone, but the rest of my face is normal. And it’s also pretty dehydrated, so I need to feed it with hydrating creams and serums. That’s why this Daily Reviving Concentrate does wonders for my cheek area: the skin looks shiny, glowy and healthy! And I definitely look more awake and fresh in the morning if I use it, compared to the times I use only moisturizer.
I also used it on the T-zone for a long time, and it worked just fine, but after a while I guess it started to clog the pores a little, especially on my chin and neck. I’ve had a couple of breakouts lately, but I still haven’t figured out what caused them. There’s a big chance it had nothing to do with the serum, but it’s just something to keep in mind, in case you have acne-prone skin and you’re not sure whether you should include oils in your skincare routine.
I didn’t feel the need to use it in the hot summer days, but it’s definitely going to be a must-have in the winter season, to keep my skin protected and hydrated.
Here are a couple of ways you can use it:
- As recommended, early in the morning, before applying moisturizer
- In the evening routine, if you want some extra moisture
- Mix a drop of serum with your foundation, to help it apply more easily, for a glowy and natural look
You only need a few drops every time, so if you buy the full sized product, it should last you for plenty of months. So even though it’s expensive, I think it’s a good investment, because it has a large quantity, and you can use it for a long time before finishing it.
I would advise you to go and ask for a sample before buying the serum, just to test it for a while and see if it works for your skin type. Serums and treatment oils are a bit more pretentious than moisturizers, so that’s why it would be a good idea to test them first. You can get free samples in every Kiehl’s store, so don’t be afraid to ask for them.
