EN: Oh well, I’m writing this post with an intense feeling of nostalgia, thinking that it’s the first year when “back to school” means nothing for me anymore. I’m done with high-school, college, master’s degree… No more stressful exams, no more long hours spent at the library, working on academic projects, no more student parties and long chats with my colleagues in cosy coffee shops.

I know it sounds depressing, but yet it’s a normal stage of my life, and I am aware that I need to move forward, work on building the life I’ve always wanted to have. Bigger responsibilities mean more opportunities to grow and evolve, and fall is the perfect season to recover my motivation, creativity and ambition to achieve my goals.

Although summer is definitely my fav’ time of the year, it has its weakness: it’s never been easier to get off track and lose your workaholic mood. It’s so good to relax with a watermelon ice lemonade on a lounge, while enjoying the hot weather, house music and clear sky. Therefore, you just go with the flow, and this means less time to focus on the important things.

RO: Încep acest articol cu un sentiment de nostalgie, gândindu-mă că e primul an în care ”back to school” nu mai înseamnă nimic pentru mine. Am terminat școala, liceul, facultatea și masterul… Gata cu sesiunile lungi și stresante, gata cu poveștile lungi din pauze cu colegii, gata cu orele petrecute la bibliotecă lucrând la proiecte și lucrări academice, gata cu petrecerile studențești.

Știu că sună deprimant, dar totuși e normal, am încheiat o etapă frumoasă din viață, iar acum e timpul să merg mai departe, să mă concentrez și să îmi construiesc viața pe care mi-o doresc. Apar tot mai multe responsabilități, tot mai multe planuri și dorințe, iar toamna este anotimpul perfect în care să îmi regăsesc motivația, cheful de muncă și ambiția necesară pentru a ajunge unde vreau.  Deci pentru mine, toamna înseamnă back to work.

Vara e genială, dar te face să uiți puțin de viața de zi cu zi, te pierzi parcă sub razele intense de soare, cerul senin și terasele îmbietoare din centrul orașului. Nu poți decât să te lași purtat de val, să profiți de vremea frumoasă și să te relaxezi pe un șezlong, cu o limonadă rece de pepene în mână.

 

 

EN: Fast-forward to a working Monday in October, you’ll see how the rain is slowly falling on the window sill, a hot coffee and task-filled agenda are waiting for you on the desk, and you’re no longer wearing gladiator sandals and pretty dresses, but leather pants, boots and a graphic printed shirt. The temperatures go below 15 degrees Celsius, the traffic has gone wild again, and the office halls are crowded with well-dressed young business people, heading to their daily jobs.

Also, thousands of students are getting back to college, filled with joy, excitement, fear, ambition or all of the above. This is a new chapter, a new stage in life, a new beginning. And fall has this effect over all of us, no matter if we are students, pupils or corporate workers.

But since we are on a beauty & fashion blog, I want to show you my autumn wishlist, with the clothes I would love to wear this season. It seems I tend to embrace a minimalistic look, because I chose a lot of black and white items, but also simple textures, that are classic and easy to match. However, wearing these in an authentic and eclectic manner can build up amazing outfits, that can easily make you stand out of the crowd.

RO: Fast-forward într-o zi de luni în Octombrie și ai să vezi cum ploaia cade încet pe pervazul geamului, cum cafeaua aburindă și o agendă plină cu task-uri așteaptă cuminți pe birou, iar tu nu mai porți rochițe vaporoase și sandale, ci pantaloni de piele, botine și o cămașă cu printuri aztece. Temperaturile au scăzut sub 15 grade Celsius, aglomerația din trafic s-a întors în parametrii normali, iar printre birouri o mulțime de tineri îmbrăcați business-casual zâmbesc timid și își reiau activitățile obișnuite.

Tot acum, mii de studenți se întorc pe băncile facultății, cu emoții, energie, frică, ambiție, nepăsare sau bucurie, sau toate la un loc. Back to school înseamnă un nou capitol, o nouă etapă, un nou început. Iar toamna are efectul ăsta asupra tuturor, indiferent dacă suntem studenți, școlari sau corporatiști.

Iar pentru că sunteți totuși pe un blog de beauty & fashion, am să vă arăt un wishlist de toamnă cu hainele pe care mi-aș dori să le port în acest sezon. Tind să mă îndrept spre un look minimalist, pentru că am ales o mulțime de item-uri în alb și negru, dar și texturi simple, clasice și ușor de asortat. Totuși, purtate într-un mod efervescent și autentic, ele pot crea outfit-uri de efect, care te pot scoate în evidență.

 

 

EN: This year’s color choices are similar to what we see every fall, so a lot of khaki, burgundy, mustard yellow and earthy shades. The surprise comes from the usually-related-to-spring pastels, that are very hip and trendy this autumn. The hottest trends of 2015’s fall season include the plaid print (especially on shirts and scarves); the army/ military style, mixed with leather items, for a strong, bad-ass outfit; or on the contrary, with satin and silk items, which have the ability to transform an otherwise androgynous look into a feminine and classy appearance.

The white shirt can be so versatile that you might consider it boring, but adding a small twist can turn it into the central element of your outfit. An over sized scarf, a bold-colored necklace, with some golden touches, these kind of details can have an amazing effect on your look. I would pair it with some cool leather pants that take the shape of your body, for a sexy, and yet not too provocative look.

The thick-heeled boots are the best shoes you could ever wear in autumn, because they look so cool, and also protect you from rainy and cold weather. You can’t get wet with these on, they are cosy and warm, can be very comfortable due to their steady heel, and also look great with almost anything you wear (dresses, skirts, but also pants) and anywhere you go (clubbing, shopping, to the office, to a movie, etc.)

RO: Pata de culoare din acest sezon este reprezentată de khaki, marsala, galben muștar și nuanțe pământii. Surpriza vine prin pasteluri, care de obicei sunt asociate cu primăvara, dar toamna asta sunt mai în vogă ca niciodată. De asemenea, printre trendurile toamnei regăsim obsesia pentru carouri (mai ales pe cămăși și eșarfe), stilul army/ military în combinație cu haine din piele sau dimpotrivă, din mătase/ satin, care au abilitatea de a transforma o ținută de tip androgin într-un look feminin, elegant.

Cămașa albă e atât de versatilă, încât poate fi plictisitoare inițial, dar adăugând un mic artificiu poate deveni elementul central al ținutei. O eșarfă oversized, un colier neon, poate niște nasturi aurii, vor avea cu siguranță un efect năucitor. Aș purta-o cu o pereche de pantaloni din piele negri, perfect mulați pe corp, care nu dezvăluie prea mult, dar totuși suficient încât să stârnească imaginația privitorilor.

Botinele cu toc gros sunt cea mai mișto încălțăminte pentru zilele friguroase și ploioase: nu te uzi prin ele, îți țin de cald, sunt comode datorită tocului stabil, arată bestial atât cu fuste/ rochii, cât și cu pantaloni, și sunt potrivite cam în orice situație (club, birou, shopping, film, whatever).

 

 

EN: We also have to think about the bag. Having a lot of things to cary with us every day (way too many, if you’d ask any man from this planet), it has to be solid and big enough for our needs, but also easy to wear and suitable for each women’s personality and style.

Also, a nice watch can make a huge difference in any outfit, whether it’s casual or office. It helps you stay punctual, looks great with any kind of outerwear item (even if it’s a fancy arched coat or a biker jacket), so it’s an essential accesory for any woman who wants to be noticed.

RO: Să ne gândim și la geantă. Avem de cărat multe după noi (prea multe, dacă ar fi să întrebi orice bărbat din lume), deci ne trebuie o geantă rezistentă, solidă, cu multe compartimente, dar totuși ușor de purtat și reprezentativă pentru femeia care o poartă.

Un ceas elegant poate fi extrem de bine primit în orice ținută, casual sau office. Te ajută să rămâi punctuală, arată foarte bine și cu un sacou perfect călcat, dar și cu o geacă de piele, fiind un accesoriu indispensabil pentru orice femeie care vrea să fie remarcată.
