I love to try different drugstore products! Every month I buy new stuff that goes straight into my make-up bag. So last month I did an order on Aoro.ro, one of my favorite online stores, and got a couple of products from Rimmel London, Maybelline and L’Oreal.
I paid ~100 RON for all the products listed below, including delivery costs. Is that a bargain or what? And I actually like them all. So I decided to share my first impressions with you in this post. I will also come back with some detailed reviews, if you’re interested.
Rimmel London BB Cream Matte 9-in-1 (Light)
I don’t like to wear foundation every day at work, I prefer a BB Cream or a CC Cream instead, for daily use. I was happy with the Gerovital Happiness CC Cream in the past, but I wanted to try something new this time. So this Matte 9-in-1 BB Cream from Rimmel London seemed like the perfect choice.
It’s affordable (20 RON), it had great reviews, so I decided to buy it. And I’m glad I did, because I’ve been wearing it daily ever since the package arrived. By the way, if you want to read some real customer reviews, you can check websites like Boots, Ulta and Makeup Alley. I always do this before buying anything.
I didn’t have high expectations, but it actually does a great job. It has a decent-to-medium coverage and it’s super easy to apply. Also, it’s mattifying, it lasts all day, and it works great on my combination skin. I always set it up with translucent powder, so I don’t know if it would still work without it (probably not), but I’m OK with that.
The texture is kinda liquid, less creamy than I thought, so you need to be careful when you open it. I usually apply it with a wet beauty sponge or with a stippling brush (if I’m in a hurry). It’s buildable, so if you’re not happy with the coverage, you can always add more product. For me, one layer is enough, and then I cover up any imperfections with a concealer.
I still have plenty of things to say about this product, so I’ll post a more detailed review soon. Until then, I can say I do recommend it, and it’s better than I thought, especially for such a low price.
Rimmel London 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish (405 Rose Libertine)
I also bought the Rimmel London 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish, in the shade Rose Libertine. I wanted a simple classic pink nail color, to help me get a feminine and elegant manicure. I love the color and the gel-like finish.
When doing my manicure, I usually use a base coat, one thick layer of nail polish, and then a 3D Gel top coat. So by following these steps, my nails look perfect for 7-10 days without a problem. It’s easy to apply, and I love the applicator, because it’s precise, so you can’t mess it up. And it dries in 60 seconds, so it’s also fast and efficient.
Lovely color, good opacity, great price. 10/10 would buy again 🙂
Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner (Blackest Black)
I only got the chance to wear this gel liner a few times in the past month, but I already like it. It’s similar to the Rimmel London ScandalEyes tube liner, one of my favorite products of all time. It’s black and opaque, and it has a smooth texture, so it’s easy to apply.
I didn’t wear it for more than 6 hours yet, so I’m not sure about the lasting performance. But I’ll test it and come back with a detailed review soon.
I love the fact that it’s matte and it dries off quickly. The thin brush is super precise, so you can draw the perfect wings. I haven’t tried the other side of the applicator yet, so I’m not sure if you can get a cool smudge effect by using it. But it’s nice that you have both options available.
L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara (Black)
I didn’t actually need a new mascara, but the Volume Million Lashes Feline has been on my wishlist for a long time. This mascara has an arched brush, designed to define, curl, sculpt and volumize the lashes. Since I don’t usually use a lash curler, I wanted to see if this could provide the same effects, and I was impressed.
It doesn’t clump or flake, it separates the lashes, and it layers very well. When I use it, I get dark voluminous lashes, so it’s definitely a winner for me. Plus, I am a huge fan of the packaging, the emerald green & golden makes it look so beautiful and luxurious.
Have you tried any of these products? Or is any of them on your wishlist?
