New In My Make-up Bag: Sleek & NYX Cosmetics

Hello guys! I have a lot of new products to show you, so today we’re starting off with some cool make-up items I recently got from This time, I ordered an eyebrow gel and a concealer from NYX; a liquid lipstick and a blush from Sleek.

Overall, I’m quite happy with my purchase. I love these brands because they have affordable & good quality products. So now let’s talk about each one separately 🙂

Sleek Blush (Rose Gold)

This is a really pigmented blush, it has some amazing reflections. It’s a dupe for the NARS Orgasm blush, for a much better price. You need just a little bit of product to make your skin look fresh and glowy.

The beautiful rose shade matches any skin type (and it seems to be very flattering for every skin color as well). It’s long-lasting, so it doesn’t dissapear during the day, and you can use it in many different ways. For example, in the Insta picture below, I used it on the mobile lid, on the cheeks and also on the lips.

Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lipstick (Birthday Suit)

The color is beautiful, a great nude for fair skin. It’s pigmented and it looks great with a dramatic smokey eye. The sad thing is that it dries the lips, it looks kinda patchy (as you can see in the picture below) and it doesn’t last so long – just a couple of hours. It’s a shame, because I really like the color. And if I use a bit of blush or shimmery eyeshadow on top of it, it looks gorgeous.

I will continue to use it once in a while, but I actually prefer the ones from Boys’n’Berries (keep an eye on the blog, because I’ll soon post some swatches for the 2 new shades I purchased from this brand).

I must also mention that this shade is part of the older collection of Matte Me lipsticks. They released a couple of new colors last fall, and it seems those have a much better formula.

NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel

The Control Freak Eyebrow Gel is great to keep your eyebrows under control all day long. It’s transparent, so it works for any eyebrow color. You can use it on top of a brow pencil/ powder.

NYX HD Photogenic Concealer Wand (Light)

The NYX HD Concealer has a high coverage, it conceals any blemishes and dark under-eye circles. It has a liquid-to-creamy texture, so it’s easy to blend in the skin. It’s buildable, but you shouldn’t use too much product, because it tends to become cakey. Also, I noticed it starts to crease under the eyes in a couple of hours after applying it.

You need to use powder to set it and I think it looks a lot better if you use a translucent powder. I’m currently using one from Catrice Cosmetics and I’m happy with the results. Also, the shade “Light” is great for a fair skin with yellow/neutral tones. The HD concealers are available in many different shades, so you should easily find your perfect match.

The annoying thing is that the writing on the recipient starts to fade in just a couple of days, so you will get all dirty with black ink. You need to wash your hands right after touching the recipient, or else you can easily stain your clothes or face.
