I’ve been trying to spend a lot less money in the past months, so that changed my shopping habits a bit. This means I haven’t bought any new make-up products in February. And the crazy part is that now I wear make-up almost daily, so I do tend to use more products than usual.
I know people think that beauty bloggers wear make-up all the time, but actually that’s not true. Or at least, it depends on the person. Not long ago, I was wearing make-up only on weekends, and I would walk around bare-faced at work. But now I’m more than happy to do it every single day, because it’s fun and it makes me look put together.
Anyways, let’s talk about the new products in my make-up bag, ’cause that’s the subject of today’s post. I bought these goodies at the beginning of January, so they’re pretty new. I did manage to test them for a while, but now I’m gonna share just a few first impressions with you about each product. I’ll come back later on with some detailed reviews if you’re interested, just let me know which one you want first.
I bought the first few products from makeup-shop.ro. It’s not the first time I’m mentioning this website on the blog, because I placed many orders here in the past. They sell a lot of amazing brands, like Real Techniques, NYX, Milani, Sleek. I’ll admit, they are a bit more expensive than other stores, but I think it’s worth the extra cash. All the products are original, the orders arrive quick, and I was never disapointed by their services.
Sleek Make-up i-Divine “Oh So Special” Eyeshadow Palette
Ok, so I’ve been meaning to try this palette for a long time now. Even though I have a crush on Makeup Revolution palettes, I was curious to see how the Sleek ones behave. And the one that has been sitting on my wishlist for a while was i-Divine “Oh So Special”.
I’m sure you won’t be surprised if I tell you it has a lovely selection of pinks, browns, plums and greys. I’m getting predictable, I know, but I looove these neutral colors so much. They flatter my eye color and it’s so easy to get the perfect look while using them!
So now, let’s talk about the actual eyeshadows. The palette contains 7 matte shades and 5 shimmery ones. They are pigmented, blendable and easy to work with. Some shades are more powdery than others, and I also noticed a difference when it comes to the lasting performance. While some shades last plenty of hours without fading or creasing, others don’t.
The shimmery shades are gorgeous though, and they make your eyes stand out. I plan to try the dark shimmery blue soon, because it looks amazing and quite tempting for a night out 🙂
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil (604 Milk)
Everyone was raving about this product, so I had to buy it! 😀 I got the Milk shade, because I wanted a base for my eyeshadows, to make them brighter and to last longer. So I used it several times so far, and it does a great job. I like that it’s creamy, easy to blend and you can use it for different purposes. You can apply it as a white eyeliner on the waterline, or as a highlight on the inner corner of the eye.
So far, so good. I’ll have to see how to sharpen it, because it’s quite wide and my usual sharpener won’t do the trick. But I’m sure I’ll figure out a way.
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
This brush is so much smaller than I imagined! But ladies, it does such an amazing job… I’m more than impressed. When I apply my foundation with this brush, everything becomes easier.
I only need a bit of product to cover up the whole face. I get a perfect coverage and a flawless complexion, even before using any concealer at all. The brush is thick and compact, so this makes it perfect for achieving this kind of look. It’s perfect for an event, for a party, or even for the Instagram selfies, ha ha.
For a daily natural look, I prefer the beauty blender. But for a full-face of make-up, this brush is a true essential. I’m happy it’s finally part of my make-up kit. And I can’t wait to use it more often… I guess I need some party plans asap :))
I also placed an order recently on 1001cosmetice.ro. This is another online shop that sells beauty and make-up products. It’s trustworthy, they often have discounts and you also get a small gift for any order. And they have quite a great variety of drugstore products: Catrice, Essence, Rimmel London, Maybelline, L’Oreal, etc.
Revlon ColorStay Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin (180 Sand Beige)
The actual purpose of my order was to repurchase two of my favorite products: the Revlon ColorStay foundation and the Rimmel London Wake Me Up concealer.
Revlon ColorStay is one of the best drugstore foundations I tried so far. It’s my current favorite and I found the perfect match for my skin color, so I had to get a new one.
And I’m happy I got the product in the old formula. Because, as you might know, Revlon recently launched the version with a pump. And I’ve read several reviews that said it doesn’t have the same coverage or lasting performance anymore. Not sure about that, but I didn’t want to risk it either.
Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer (Light)
As for the concealer, it’s the third time I’m buying it. I like that it’s lightweight, it has a medium coverage and it feels great on the skin. Also, it doesn’t crease and the shade “Light” is perfect for my skin color.
There’s just one thing worth keeping in mind if you’re interested in buying it. This concealer has some teeny tiny sparkling particles in it, that give you a dewy glowy effect. I don’t mind, because I noticed it makes me look more fresh and awake. But I must say it’s quite noticeable. So if you don’t want a shiny under-eye area (or if you prefer a matte formula), you should probably try something else.
Makeup Revolution PRO E104 Eyebrow Brush
The only new product from this order is the Makeup Revolution PRO E104 brush. Even though it’s marketed as an eyebrow brush, I swear it’s the best eyeliner brush I’ve ever tried.
It’s small and precise enough to give you the best eyeliner appplication, no matter what kind of look you’re trying to achieve. Say hello to classic winged eyeliner, dramatic or graphic looks!
As you know, I prefer the gel liner formula, so having a good brush is kinda’ important. And after using many eyeliner brush freebies (you know, the ones that come in the packaging), now I finally have the perfect tool. So I no longer have an excuse for getting an uneven eyeliner wing :))
What products did you buy recently? Have you tried any of the products I mentioned in this article?
Make sure you don’t miss any new updates!
