Hello ladies and welcome back to my blog! I’m sure you are all aware of the power of make-up.
We take advantage of it every time we want to look better and feel more confident in our own skin. But we don’t always have the time or the mood to create elaborated looks, to draw perfect eyeliner wings or to blend 5 different eyeshadows. That’s when the “no make-up” make-up look becomes the perfect choice.
I mean, you want to cover up blemishes, look awake, fresh and ready to start a new day? Just a few products will do it. Quick, easy and glowy, these are the main attributes of today’s look. Make sure you pick up a couple of good brushes and that’s it, you’re ready to start. Let’s do it step by step.
Prepare the skin by doing your usual skincare routine. Then apply a bit of primer, to hide the pores and create the perfect canvas for your make-up. I used the Benefit Porefessional PRO Balm.
With a damp beauty sponge, apply a thin layer of BB Cream, to even up your skin color and cover the blemishes. If you want a matte finish, I recommend the Rimmel London Matte 9-in-1 BB Cream. It has an amazing coverage, it’s long-lasting, and you don’t even feel it on the face.
For the dark circles and any other imperfections, I used the Maybelline Anti-Age Eraser Eye Concealer. This doesn’t crease under the eyes, it’s very creamy and easy to work with, and the shade Light is perfect for my skin color.
If you want to look fresh and healthy, you definitely need a bit of highlighter in your make-up routine. I used the Watt’s Up Cream Highlighter from Benefit. This has a very flattering golden undertone, that looks amazing on any skin color.
To get the best results, I apply this on top of the BB cream, before setting everything with powder. I used my fingers to place it in the top points of the face (brow bone, cupid’s bow, nose, center of the chin and top of the cheekbones). And to achieve a natural effect, I came back with a duo-fiber brush from Real Techniques and I gently started blending it in.
For a flawless finish, I have to use a bit of loose powder all across the face. This will help set the liquid products in place, without getting a cakey effect. I’ve been using the Catrice Nude Illusion Powder for almost 2 months now, and I’m beyond satisfied. I’ll definitely buy it again, because it has a great quality-price ratio.
To apply it, I used a big fluffy brush from the Elf Essentials collection.
Ain’t nobody got time to contour and define their brows every morning, am I right? Well, if you can’t get out of the house without perfectly groomed brows, that’s awesome. But I’m kinda lazy, and I think it’s just too much effort to do it every single day.
So for this look I skipped the brow powder/ pencil part and I picked only one product: the NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel. This helps keep the hairs in place all day long, and it’s transparent, so there’s no need to worry about the perfect shade anymore. It’s just a quick and easy fix for your brows.
For the eyes, I picked two products that can make a world of difference. For a natural and sophisticated look, there’s nothing better than a light shade of rosy pink. This will help cover up the veins on your eyelids, open up the eye and make you look fresh and pretty. Not to mention how good it looks on green or blue eyes 🙂 Just make sure you blend it well, to avoid any harsh lines.
I used one of my Kiko Milano Infinity Mono Eyeshadows, in the shade 225 (Satin Ballerina Rose), applied all across the lid with an Elf Professional Blending Eye Brush.
For mascara, I picked one of the latest additions to my make-up bag, the L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara. I think it’s the perfect choice for this type of look, because you can instantly get dark black, curly, long and voluminous lashes, with only one coat of mascara. It has a clump-free formula, so it’s almost impossible to mess it up, even if you’re in a hurry. I’ll share more details in a future post, if you want to find out more about this product.
As you might have noticed already, I didn’t use any blush or contour for this look. And now I’m not even using a lipstick, just this Balea Lovely Mint Lip Balm. Of course, the “no make-up” make-up can be done in many different ways, so you can add as many products as you want and feel comfortable with.
This looks perfect with a nude lip, but you can also add a rosy mauve lipstick, a brown or a light coral. I decided to stick to the lip balm, for glowy hydrated lips. This also smells delicious and fresh, so I like it a lot.
And here you can see the final look: quick, easy and perfect for school or work 🙂 Some people might think you didn’t wear any make-up at all, because… yeah, it looks so fresh and simple. Like your skin, but better. But we know the truth, ha ha.
What do you think about this look? Do you enjoy wearing the “no make-up” make-up look?
