It’s official: chokers are here to stay. When I first heard about this trend comeback, I wasn’t really impressed. I mean, I was born in the 90’s and I never wore one of those before. I know they were very popular back then, but I was like meh.

Well, guess what? Now you can see chokers everywhere! Your favorite bloggers, celebrities, socialites and even co-workers are wearing them. It’s insane, if you ask me. However, this time I decided to jump on the bandwagon. Because why not?

Where I got mine

So I went on a hunt at the mall. Mission: finding an amazing black choker necklace. I wanted something pretty and easy to integrate in any outfit, so that’s why I was looking for something black and simple. I have to admit, it was really hard to find anything. But I eventually did.

And not just one black choker, but 4 of them! I got this beautiful set from Stradivarius with 39 RON (~ 9 euros), so i think I made a pretty good deal. All of them are different, but quite similar in the same time, so I can just mix and match them with almost anything from my wardrobe.

My favorite has to be the one with the little golden star, it looks so cute and stylish. The hardest to wear is the big one, which also feels quite uncomfortable sometimes. But otherwise, I’m happy with my purchase.

How to wear them

I think they are so versatile, you can wear a choker for both a casual laid-back look or a fancy dinner outfit. You can also play around and layer multiple necklaces, if you’re feeling brave.

There are many different types of chokers, and maybe some of them might be a little more pretentious. But the basic black choker necklace will definitely look good with anything. I promise 🙂

Where do I get one?

From what I noticed, although the trend is massive right now, the stores don’t really have a wide offer yet (at least in Romania). But I did some quick research and you can order them online from Stradivarius, Diva Charms, Zara, AllShops. Also, remember those small Facebook pages promoting unique hand-made jewelry? That’s another option to consider.

Otherwise, there are a lot of chokers available on websites like ASOS, Forever21, NewLook, Claire’s.
