Weekly Reads #4

weekly-reads-4

Yes, I know I’m one day late with my Weekly Reads post, but I also know that you’ll forgive me šŸ™‚ You will definitely like my picksĀ for this edition, since we talk a lot about blogging, life choices, Twitter chats, positive mindsetsĀ and online influencers. Grab a cup of coffee or tea, a cozy blanket, and enjoy!

1.Ā It’s OK to skip your “20’s” and start your life (Carrots for Michaelmas)

Worth reading because: The lovely author of this blog is a very happy wife and mom, and in this article she states that it’s totally OK to give up the “travelling to know yourself” or “partying like there’s no tomorrow till you’re 30 years old” stages in life, and that building a family can be also rewarding. It’s a different and fresh perspective on this topic, reminding us that happiness doesn’t mean the same thing for everybody, and that’s OK.

2.Ā Twitter blog chats | Timetable (Zoe Linda)

Worth reading because: Twitter chats are very cool. If you are a blogger, you’ll love them, sinceĀ you get to connect with other awesome people, learn new thingsĀ and talk about interesting topics. So Zoe Linda’s post is a great list of all the beauty, fashion and lifestyleĀ chats that take place every week. You can bookmark it, to make sure you don’t miss ’em next time šŸ™‚ (btw, one of them is actually every Tuesday evening, so if you don’t have any plans for tonight, check out the #fblchat hashtag!)

3.Ā Scratching the surface: BRYANBOY reports from the front line of the super bloggersā€™ war with realityĀ (Tank Magazine)

Worth reading because: If you ever heard about BryanBoy (and I bet you did), then most certainly youĀ want to find out more about his whole blogging adventure. This article is written by himĀ andĀ it serves asĀ a wake up call on the thin line between the glamorousĀ lives that major online influencers seem to have vs.Ā their real life – a difference which sometimes can be very misleading.

4.Ā Things to know about being a blogger (Couture Girl)

Worth reading because: Kayleigh is funny as hell; if you’re a beauty or fashion blogger, you’ll probably relate to a lot of theĀ points on her list (I know I did); and last but not least, you’ll acknowledge that blogging is the coolest & hardest thing you’ve ever done, at the same time.

5.Ā Make Yourself Immune to Secondhand Stress (Harvard Business Review)

Worth reading because: We all face secondhand stress on a daily basis. Angry people on the bus, at the office, at home… They have the power toĀ change your mood in an instant, if you just go with the flow. But this article is great because it shows usĀ that it’s possible to switch to a positive mindset instead, and control our own emotions.

Which was your favorite article from last week?
