Weekly Reads #7: Morning Routines, Celebrities and a Summer in the USA

Hello lovelies! It’s Monday again, a rainy Monday here in Cluj, and this means it’s time to give you some good articles to read (as I always do, he he). I don’t know if it’s a sign, but lately I’ve been reading a lot of personal stories from fellow bloggers, about life-changing experiences and lessons that can shift your perspective over your own choices and life path.

So in this Weekly Reads edition, you will find a fascinating American (not horror) story, some tips on how to improve your morning routine, and also the reason why some people won’t pick up your calls. Enjoy!

1. Our American Story (DY Rogue)

Worth reading because: This is the story of a summer in America, as told by a gorgeous Romanian blogger. She has amazing writing skills, and while reading her blog post, you can almost feel like you’re actually there. Make yourself a cup of hot coffee and get ready for a journey in the country of all possibilities. Ride on the streets of San Francisco, party and gamble on a rooftop in Las Vegas, enjoy the sunset in Jamala and then get ready to meet New York’s brutal beauty and drama.

2. 20 Things I Wish I Knew At Age 20 (Cupcakes and Cashmere)

Worth reading because: I’ve been following Emily for a long time now, and she’s an amazing and inspiring woman. She’s a successful writer, manages her own business and also has a gorgeous family. And in this post, Emily shares some great pieces of advice for her 20-years old self. I can relate to a lot of the points on her list, and I think you will too.

3. Why Your Morning Routine Isn’t Working and How To Fix It (Life Hacker)

Worth reading because: Let’s just get things straight: we are not all morning people. I know it’s hard keeping up with a healthy routine, when all you want to do every morning is hit that snooze button and get some more sleep. So in this useful article you will find some good tips on how to improve your morning routine, so you can get a fresh start every day (or at least try).

4. What Celebrities Can Teach Companies About Social Media (The Wall Street Journal)

Worth reading because: Although you can see “companies” in the title, this WSJ article applies to bloggers as well, since we all use social media very often to promote our posts. And celebrities seem to have a proven successful approach, so we might as well read and learn something new, right? 🙂

5. Why I Don’t Answer Most Phone Calls (Medium)

Worth reading because: I am indeed one of those people who prefer text messaging and e-mails rather than actual phone calls, especially in a professional environment. So if you feel the same (or not, and wonder why the heck would someone think of that), you should read this post.
